On a more positive note...Make-up ideas.

I like the idea of black make up for the converted Pagan/Wicca girl which will show once and during she has transformed.

Black stripes across the eyes show aggression and show her as almost evil, Louisa & I have tested make-up ideas, which I will show.

Komakino make up S/S 2008
I like the use of facepaint to fit with the clothing style and think we should reference this make-up in our short film to bring out KOMAKINO.

Rodarte showing at New York Fashion Week S/S 10 -
I quite liked the tribal 'tattoos' on the arms which we could take inspiration from but use pagan/wicca/occult symbols on the arms to reference runes which KOMAKINO have taken inspiration from.

Random make-up images I have found:

I like the striping across the eyes as it shows aggression - although i think it would look better and stand out more in black especially as we are filming in b&w

Grrrrrrrrr.

All I have to say is THERE ARE NO CAMERAS.
People have been taking out more than one in a pair! I have even heard someone had taken 3 cameras out at one time - this is awful as there are only 15 cameras all together for all of fashion promotion to use. Why the hell would you need 3?

Moan over.

Skeleton Key

Whilst coming up with ideas and developing them, I kept thinking about the Skeleton Key a film I have seen which shows how souls have moved from body to body living on past the body. The film shows how 'Hoodoo' which is an ancient African -American folk magic passes on souls - At the end of the film it shows how a ritual takes place with drawing chalk on the floor to protect an individual, also using mirrors, candles and a special record that needs to be played.

Ideas developed.

KOMAKINO LOGO

We have now changed our ideas - originally a young Catholic girl strolling towards a church has now turned into a school girl walking through woods on her way home from school...until she is distracted by markings/symbols on trees of the KOMAKINO symbol both in chalk and twigs constructed to look like the symbol and also pieces of paper fluttering around - the girl is drawn to the symbols and follows them. She then finds candles and twigs and chalk organised in such a way as a ritual (referencing wicca/paganism) the girl then lights all of the candles with the matches left and sits/stands in the circle/star sign which is on the floor- This then starts the spell/ritual which converts the girl to bad -Pagan/wicca

We want to show this by gradually showing make-up on her face - we have looked at black make up taking up te young girls face whilst her head is moving erratically & fluttering such as in Rihanna's video for the song 'Disturbia'.

She then has converted completely - the camera then zooms out from her face to show her whole body, clothes now transformed with a dark cape and dark clothes. The girl then puts her hood up - to signify the conversion/ritual then looks at her hand which has the KOMAKINO symbol on - she then shows the camera.

*DING*

Today I felt like we made great progress! *DING*

We have come up with our outline of the storyboard, step by step and decided on clothes, accessories and main points that will occur during the short film.

We have come up with two main looks -

1. 'Good Girl in White' - girl in white Christian clothes, knee length flowy dress with high socks - blonde hair in pigtails showing purity and inncocence.

2. 'Bad Girl in Black' (representing Komakino) - girl wearing black wearing almost Allsaints - esque type clothing - long knits with a hood - using some influences such as the shiny material sometimes used by Komakino, fish net tights (showing bits of flesh but not all). Dark long hair - hanging scraggly.

This pure Christian young girl starts the story and turns into Komakino which use influences from German Paganism so we want to show the conversion of faith - Christianity to Paganism or good to bad - white to black. We were thinking as to how we can interpret the word DISPARATE into our short film as one of our key words to which Louisa came up with the idea of having black & white - 2 different personalities of one person showing opposites 1 person with 2 completely different points of view.

MONOCHROMATIC - We have decided to film completely in black & white which means we need to think about textures and how different colours look better in Black & white.

We have a narrative and will be putting our mood board & final storyboard tomorrow.
