1st Impressions...

...From looking at the collection and past collections, listening to music chosen by KOMAKINO for runway, catwalks and shows I have noticed a recurring theme of repetitive melodies in the music chosen, almost like cultish tones. The muzzles and use of latex is restrictive almost signifying Religion or a cult. The use of black is repeated throughout the collection providing eery silhouettes and a general freakish feel.
NO COLOUR. REPETITIVE MUSIC. RESTRICTIVE HEAD GEAR. CULT.CULT.CULT

KOMAKINO have used a band, 'Too Young to Love - Fire' for runway shows to present there collections previously. It suits there collections to a 'T', eery, strange, freakish and repetitive.

S/S 2010 - PAINT IT BLACK

KOMAKINO

The All black Spring/Summer collection seems more like an A/W collection, with Komakino presenting minimal colour, leathers, latex, including smartly tailored jackets and distressed blazers.

QUOTE FROM JAMOOL ONLINE FASHION PROJECT:

"Iconoclasm is the main inspiration for this collection. Komakino takes religious and classic images deconstructing and recomposing them to further their unique approach to fashion. Many cults and one place, the duo fuse inspiration drawn from military, neo-classical and street details. In their aim to explore and expand their own vision of menswear Komakino bring us three collaborations this season: accessories with Keko Hainswheeler, jewellery with Dog-state and rubber couture with designer Atsuko Kudo."
